Queenstown and District Historical Society

The Historical Society was formed in 1965 in order to protect, celebrate and promote the history of the Wakatipu area. We organise meetings and activities for members and the public; publish a bi-annual magazine which is searchable on our website; have an app of historic sites; support the publication of local history; monitor development in the district to ensure history is protected; and collaborate with other organisations in promoting local history.
