Upper Clutha Community Art Council
This voluntary committee is elected to promote and support the arts in the Upper Clutha region, including Wanaka, Hawea, Luggate and Albert town. Their responsibility is to assess the eligibility and suitability of groups and individuals who seek grants from the Central Lakes Trust and the Creative NZ - Creative Community Scheme. The committee meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month. They have their own ongoing community projects as well, the annual Autumn Art School (contact : firstname.lastname@example.org) and Sunday Markets (contact : email@example.com).
If you wish to assess the eligibility of a project for a community grant, well before the event check out:
1) Creative NZ - Creative Community Scheme by googling:
creative community scheme qldc
for the Application form. It can be filled in online and sent to Queenstown Lakes District Council.
UCCAC has 2 representatives on the committee of 5 who assess these applications.
2) Central Lakes Arts Support Scheme (CLASS) criteria via the website, google: www.centrallakestrust.org.nz and when it comes up, click on the heading.
The guidelines and application form will appear.
Forms can be downloaded from the website. Paper forms are also available at the Wanaka office of QLDC and the Wanaka Library.
If you think your application may fit the criteria, get it in early.
The complete application needs to be mailed to UCCAC, Box 216 Wanaka by the 20th of the month preceding the UCCAC next meeting.
No grants are assessed or granted after the project/event has taken place.
