Kōrerotia

We are a group of locals who are passionate about Te Reo Māori (Māori Language) and Waiata (Māori songs). Most of us have completed one of the Te Ara Reo Māori courses offered by SIT, and we formed the group to continue our journey of learning and using Māori language in our every day lives. We are by no means fluent speakers, but we value Māori language and do our best to promote it in our area.

Our group is made up of mostly non-Māori and we meet up weekly either at Arrowtown School, at the Fork and Tap bar at Arrowtown, or at each others homes. Our group welcomes people from all backgrounds, ethnicities and age groups. Our group is fun and we like to socialise. Nō reira, nau mai, haere mai (So welcome!)

Akona te reo, kōrerotia te reo!

Learn the language, speak the language!
